About CAVITEX

The Manila – Cavite Toll Expressway Project or CAVITEX brings travel safety and convenience. It consists of the operational R-1 and R1 extension, which traverses the Coast of Manila and connects the Roxas Boulevard to Cavite, with 2 toll plazas namely Paranaque Toll Plaza and Kawit Toll Plaza.

Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (“CIC”) was incorporated on 09 October 1995 primarily to undertake the design, construction, and financing of the Manila-Cavite Expressway Project. The Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway Project – MCTEP more popularly known as CAVITEX is composed of 5 segments.

The CAVITEX C5 Link, is now under construction linking Paranaque to Taguig with an operational flyover crossing SLEX linking Taguig to Merville. Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), its Joint Venture Partner of the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), and PRA’s subsidiary PEA Tollways Corporation (PEATC) performs the operation and maintenance of CAVITEX.

Segment 1

On 27 December 1994, a Joint Venture Agreement was entered into for the development of the R-1 Expressway (now referred as “Segment 1”), CAVITEX C5 Link (now referred as “Segments 2 and 3”), and R-1 Extension (now referred as “Segment 4” and “Segment 5”), collectively referred to as MCTEP. The following projects shall be constructed in segments, as follows:

Segment 1 is a 6.48km expressway from Seaside Drive, Paranaque to Zapote, Las Pinas. This also includes the widening of Segment 1 mainline carriageway, construction of the Marina Left Turning Facility, upgrading of the Pacific Drive to Macapagal Blvd, and the widening of three mainline bridges: (1) Paranaque; (2) Las Pinas; and (3) Wawa.
Segment 2 & 3

Segments 2 and 3, or the CAVITEX C5 Link , is a 7.7km expressway from Segment 1 to C5 Road, Taguig. Upon completion, these two segments are expected to reduce travel time to Makati and Taguig cities from Parañaque City, Las Piñas City, and Cavite Province by thirty (30) minutes.
Segment 4

Segment 4 is a 7.4-km, 2×2 lane expressway from Zapote Interchange in Bacoor to Kawit Toll Plaza. Segment 4 Extension begins 330 meters of Kawit Toll Plaza, traversing south, and ends 720 meters after Tirona Highway. It will connect CAVITEX and CALAX, passing by the municipality of Kawit, Cavite.
Segment 5

Segment 5 is a 22-kilometer modern tollway that will interconnect the fast-growing population and industrial centers in Cavite’s coastal towns and cities towards the MCTEP network and Metro Manila, thereby significantly spurring economic development and shortening travel times. It will start at CAVITEX exit in Binakayan-Aplaya, Kawit, Cavite and will traverse westward along the wet and marshland areas of Kawit and Noveleta, then veer west south-west towards the Manila Bay shoreline of Rosario and Tanza, Cavite.

The first and fourth segments is a continuous 14-km expressway along the coast of Bacoor Bay after south of Roxas Boulevard which exits to Bacoor City and Kawit.

Location

It is located 11 kilometers from Manila capital of the Philippines and seven kilometers from the NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport).

CAVITEX C5 LINK

The second and third segment of CAVITEX, this 7.7-kilometer urban expressway starts from the Carlos P. Garcia Avenue in Taguig, boasts of a flyover that crosses SLEX-Skyway, and will connect to the first segment CAVITEX by the Coast of Manila. It will provide easier travel from Taguig, Makati, Pasay, Pasig, Quezon City and northern areas of Manila, Las Pinas and Cavite province.

This features a modern toll way system with traffic management and safety measures that are at par with international standards.

Computerized toll collection systems and traffic management system.
Reliable emergency and roadside services including emergency phone boxes.
Variable message signs and closed-circuit TV system covering the entire expressway to provide real time traffic information.
Dedicated electronic lanes for faster transactions for both transponder and swipe card system.
Roadway lighting in strategic areas.
