CAVITEX Concessionaire Donates Laptops to Parañaque City College

PARAÑAQUE CITY, 01 OCTOBER 2020 Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (“CIC”), the concessionaire of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (“CAVITEX”), has donated thirty-seven (37) laptop computers to the Parañaque City College (PCC).

The laptops were received by the City Hall of Parañaque and will be used by PCC students and faculty when their new school year opens on 05 October 2020. All classes will be held online.

“We are truly grateful to CIC for these laptops. The use of portable electronic gadgets is highly practical in this time of pandemic, as our professors and students adapt to the new normal,” said Parañaque Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez.

Last year, CIC donated 35 laptops to PCC as part of the company’s pledge to extend all viable forms of assistance to its partner local governments.

“We are very happy to be able to support Parañaque City College and the City of Parañaque. With the transition from classroom-based learning to online classes, we hope our humble donation will help ease the burden being carried by the City Hall of Paranaque, particularly when it comes to its academe,” said CIC Assistant Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management Arlette V. Capistrano.

Aside from the CAVITEX, CIC holds the concession rights for the CAVITEX C5 Link. CIC is a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Group that also operates the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (“CALAX”), the North Luzon Expressway (“NLEX”), the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (“SCTEX”) and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (“CCLEX”).
