Paranaque City – Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar inspected Kaingin road with the Executives of Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) and the Paranaque City Government. Secretary Villar asked CIC to facilitate the repair of Kaingin Road in Paranaque City to ease the traffic flow in this area.
“Kaingin Road is part of the C5 Extension road and intersects Multinational Ave in Paranaque where warehouses and logistics hubs are located. 89k vehicles pass through this area 24/7 and out of that number 6.8k vehicles pass at peak time. High volume and high load vehicles, motor chemicals and weather changes have contributed to the deterioration of the road. Kaingin has been a choke point ever since, even before C5 Link Expressway started construction. By way of helping the community, CIC agreed to extend their assistance. With the repairs done, the traffic flow will be eased.” Said Villar
“We had the area studied by our traffic team and repairing the road should immediately be done to help ease traffic in this area. It is our concern as a responsible and socially aware corporate citizen to ensure that our communities are assisted in any way we can, so we leveled the road in this area and fixed the drainage as coordinated with both DPWH and the local government of Paranaque who assisted with the traffic management. We do not expect instant decongestion; fixing the road will not lessen the vehicles, but it will make passage untroubled, smoother. Now that we have completed the repairs, we turn over Kaingin to the City of Paranaque and DPWH.” Said Bobby Bontia, President and GM of CIC.
