Paranaque City – Road Infrastructure Arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation with its subsidiary Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) concessionaire of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) held the inauguration of Cavitex road work enhancements graced by key Government partners DOTr, DPWH, Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) and CIC joint venture partner Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) and the Local Government of Paranaque. The Cavitex enhancements project officially opened today were the Southbound Flyover and Left turning Facility towards Pacific Drive leading to D.Macapagal Ave. The projects were partially opened during the first quarter of this year. The ease felt by motorists passing through this facility will be heightened now that the 4 lanes and the left turning are fully open in time for the holiday season.
Department of Public Works and Highways, Secretary Mark Villar, who graced the inauguration said “This Southbound flyover and left turn facility of Cavitex greatly helps to ease the flow of the average 140,000 vehicle transactions and we expect more room for our motorists when Phase 2 is done in Q4 of 2019. We all know that progress is aggressive in Cavite. The province is booming with real estate developers, trade investments, and movement in tourism and we expect more vehicles to use Cavitex to and from Paranaque, Las Pinas, Cavite, and the cities of Manila and Makati. Our partnerships with the private sector are in fruition and we endeavor to finish more projects in 2019.”
“With vehicular traffic at Cavitex growing, we were determined to finish the Flyover facility the soonest as well as advance the works of the Pacific Drive upgrading which was originally included in Phase 2. We saw the need to include the road works at the Pacific Drive since it compliments the elevated south-bound lanes and left turn from Cavitex, targeting its completion now that the Holiday season has started. We have expected and prepared for the increase of traffic and have designated Traffic Marshals and ground support to help manage the traffic, especially during rush hours while motorists are still getting used to driving on this structure. Part of the traffic management is the strict implementation of traffic rules and apprehension of violators which also affects smooth passage.” Said newly minted CIC president Roberto Bontia.
