“Volunteers are not paid. Not because they are worthless but because they are priceless.” – This was the battle cry of the Volunteer Employees of South Tollways (VEST) as they spearhead the annual Medical Mission of MPTSouth held last June 15 at Brgy. Toclong, Kawit, Cavite.
In partnership with the Philippine Navy, One Pharma, Tollways Multipurpose Cooperative and Maynilad, VEST was able to give medical assistance to around 167 beneficiaries, ranging from kids to senior citizens. The Volunteer Doctors from Philippine Navy were able to cater 81 General Check Up Patients, 36 Pediatric Patients, 24 Dental Cases and 6 Maternal Checkups – all were given free Medicine courtesy of OnePharma.
Aside from this, VEST Volunteers were able to assist the Barangay Health Workers in getting Vital Signs, distribution of medicine and giving away free snacks and freebies to all the beneficiaries.
This is just one of the many CSR programs lined up for this year by the Stakeholder Management Team of CSM Department. Ms. Arlette V. Capistrano, AVP for CSM is encouraging MPTS employees to be part of VEST and experience the fun and fulfillment in helping our fellow kabarangays in our host communities.
