Paving a Way for Better Education: MPT South Helps in the Construction of School Library

Biñan City, Laguna — From simply just sketches and plans, the dream of Tomas A. Toralba Elementary School (TATES) in having its very own school library is now taking shape thanks to the donation of Metro Pacific Tollways (MPT) South.

Last August 3, headed by its Community Relations Team, MPT South responded to the need of TATES and handed over construction materials that will be used for the establishment of their school library.

Every teacher can attest how important it is for an educational institution to have this kind of facility. “We believe that having a library is very helpful to pupils wherein they can read, do their assignments and borrow books,” said Ms. Grace Dayao, Librarian of Tomas A. Toralba Elementary School. “On behalf of all the teachers, staff, and hundreds of students of TATES, we’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to MPT South in helping us with this project,”Dayao added.

As part of its CSR efforts in giving back to the community, MPT South’s donation will greatly aid in building a small yet well-organized library that will be supplemental to the students’ education. This is also part of a series of Brigada Eskwela projects of the company – an annual community-based program that sets to assist schools thru providing supplies and facilities conducive to the students’ learning and helps promote the spirit of Bayanihan in the areas they visit.

Metro Pacific Tollways (MPT) South Corporation is the company behind the expansion of road networks such as the Cavitex, connected to the 7.7km C5 Southlink that traverses through Taguig, Las Pinas and Paranaque, and the 45km Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAEX) which extends until Mamplasan, Biñan, Laguna.
